Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AV Support Technician to join a dedicated team providing on-site support for a leading organization in Swindon. The role involves managing and maintaining state-of-the-art audio-visual and unified communication (UC) systems while delivering exceptional service to the end user.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to enhance service delivery and play a key role in supporting cutting-edge AV technology within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the client's designated stakeholder on a day-to-day basis.
- Be based in Swindon (with occasional travel to Northampton) to oversee technical issues and maintenance activities.
- Oversee and manage AV/UC systems daily, providing real-time in-room support for related issues.
- Log incidents and tickets according to site protocol and ensure resolution within SLA timelines.
- Diagnose and resolve AV-related issues on a first/second-line basis.
- Provide system workarounds in the event of failures.
- Collaborate with off-site help desks and third-party vendors to manage incidents and RMAs.
- Manage equipment repairs and maintain critical spares inventory.
- Implement software and firmware updates as directed.
- Demonstrate expertise in digital AV environments and structured cable infrastructures.
- Train and support end users as needed.
- Be available to provide technical assistance for high-profile events and VIP meetings, including a meet-and-greet service when required.
- Generate daily reports and liaise with clients to understand meeting requirements and equipment setups.
- Conduct regular room and system checks (daily/monthly) and oversee preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain an accurate asset schedule and critical spares inventory.
- Assist with ad hoc moves and changes as required.
- Prepare reports and attend service review meetings as needed.
- Provide full-time support Monday to Friday, on a shift/rota basis, between 07:00 and 19:00, with flexibility as required.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining AV/UC systems.
- Strong fault-diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
- Competence in digital AV environments and a solid understanding of network architecture.
- Ability to deliver user training and provide individual support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT literacy and familiarity with structured cabling infrastructures.
- Experience in supporting high-profile events and VIPs.
