Job Opportunity: Experienced Event and Conference Technician (London-based)
Our client is a leading global audio visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships worldwide. We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Event and Conference Technician to join our London team. In this role, you will take full responsibility for providing technical onsite support in event spaces, conference rooms, meeting rooms, and over video conferencing software.
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional, experienced Event and Conference Technician to join an established operation with the scope to drive and enhance the service at every opportunity. Experience and seniority of the position will be reflected in the remuneration and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup/operation of integrated event spaces, including high-profile auditorium-based results presentations and town halls.
- Proficient in audio, video, and lighting equipment, both digital and analogue.
- Video conference/audio conference setup and support with software and hardware platforms, including Zoom, Cisco, and Polycom systems.
- Manage all aspects of video calls from initial booking through to monitoring and completion, including scheduling and full systems operational testing prior to any high-profile event.
- Prepare equipment for future events and meetings as required.
- Collaborate with the Breakfix team to locate faults and provide resolutions, such as fixing, replacing, or upgrading hardware in support of AV & VC facilities.
- Perform 1st/2nd line repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance, including daily checks on all equipment in the building.
- Provide audio visual support to other areas of the business when required, such as setting up PAs or assisting with presentations in meeting rooms.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, being the main client interface when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
- Deliver excellent customer service, resolving issues quickly and professionally while working calmly under pressure.
- Maintain a presentable appearance and communicate effectively with senior executives both face-to-face and via telephone/Zoom.
- Work onsite shifts to meet requirements with a flexible approach, ensuring out-of-hours events are covered.
- Liaise with the help desk and operations team to arrange backup support when required.
- Handle administrative tasks using Microsoft Office applications, Zoom back-end bespoke ticketing systems, and room booking software.
- Support livestreaming as required.
- Proactively train and support end users as needed.
- Locate faults and provide first-fix resolutions, such as fixing or loaning equipment.
- Prepare equipment for events and meetings as required.
- Be fully competent with all installed and portable technologies.
- Provide support to users at all levels of seniority.
- Assist with high-level audio/visual quality of presentations, optimizing content aspect ratios, resolutions, and file formats to suit the space.
- Attend and remain on station for important events as required.
- Work any rotational shift basis as required.
- Perform necessary administration to support the role, including email correspondence using professional language and decorum.
